Of The Earth Nourishments

FAQ's
Do you travel?
Yes, I do! I will travel within a two hour driving radius from where I’m based in Weaverville, NC. I request a gas stipend for traveling regardless of whether I am doing meal prep or catering a small event. The rate is $0.50 per mile of travel, after the first 5 miles there and back.
Do you have your own kitchen?
I do not have a commercial kitchen that I can prepare food in, which is why I prepare food on site. I can, however, prepare food items that fall under the “Cottage Food Law” in my home kitchen, such as breads and pastries. So it is crucial that there is a kitchen space onsite for small events and that you are comfortable with me preparing food in your kitchen for meal prep services. Some fridge space, an empty sink and dish rack (and dishwasher if applicable) and clean countertops are greatly appreciated.
Do you bring all of the cooking supplies?
I prefer to use supplies such as pans, cutting boards, pots, bowls and utensils that are already in your home or at the venue kitchen. This lightens my load. But I will always bring specialty items if I know I’m going to need them like food processors, blenders, and my own chefs knives. Please inform me beforehand if your space is lacking key supplies or dishes for plated meals.

Pricing for small events?
This will vary depending on dietary preferences, amount of people being served and meal/ingredient requests. I am happy to work around a budget you have, but my minimum is $250. A 50% deposit is required upon agreement.

Cancellation or Rescheduling
If you need to reschedule a meal preparation date, I request a three day notice. The same goes for cancellation. Your deposit will be returned or put towards the next food prep date. For small events, I ask for a week’s notice for rescheduling or canceling. If you cancel within a week from the projected event date, only 25% of your 50% deposit will be returned to you to account for my time spent preparing and any ingredients already purchased.

Are prices per serving for meal prep a set rate?
Most likely, yes. The only time that there may be an up-charge is if you request substitutions or add-ons to meals. If this is the case, the projected cost will be expressed to you before the time that payment is due. Much like ordering meals at a restaurant, the total price includes cost of ingredients and labor, but tips are greatly appreciated and 20% of the total is the service industry standard.
